Repertory & Level
• Class repertoire is free of choice - but there is no secret that the teacher has 'a bias' towards Bach and French music. If people bring 'same stuff', we will try to accommodate that - perhaps as 'a workshop in the workshop'.
• Although the Master-class is aimed at professional musicians and ditto students, amateurs are welcome - will be more or less active players, class size and level influencing.
• If you bring a partner / friend / spouse who plays another-though-combinable instrument on a comparable level - do encourage this person to come along, as, although this is foremost a harpsichord master class, we can and will welcome some chamber music - as long as the total class (harpsichord) repertoire is being taken care of. Obviously, no individual, instrumental / vocal lesson can be given.
Accommodations & Expenses
• The total cost for room and board - all meals - accommodation in single rooms
- will be NOK 4800 (ca. 480€ / 535$ / 400 Pounds) per person.
If you bring your partner / spouse / friend and stay in double rooms
- this person will pay NOK 4300.
• These costs will be paid directly to Sund, obviously - payment method t.b.a.
• There will be no course fee, but all accepted applicants will be asked a non returnable deposit of 100€ to cover for administration.
• If you want to bring kids / family - please express your wishes, there are tons of room and wonderful, kid-friendly environments at Sund - and I am sure a good deal can be offered.
Further information will follow after application and registration.
Travel to Sund
• Come by airline travel? Trondheim airport at Værnes (TRD) has impeccable service from 'more places than you'd think' - KLM, SAS, Norwegian &c. fly there directly and Oslo (OSL) does not need to be a default stop-between. There are direct services from i.e., Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Frankfurt and many others. Try to book reasonably early, though.
• Traveling days are: inbound, 7.25th - outbound, 7.31th, unless you plan differently.
• From Værnes you need to get to Sund - easy by the hourly train schedule towards Steinkjer - from the airport train station to Røra. From Røra, we'll fetch you and bring you to Sund (6 km) - we'll need to know when you come, though.
• Come by car? No problem with parking, of course. Sund and Inderøy is a great place to travel to and from, especially if you plan on a few days extra, to see the country. Sund is located a good 650 km / 400 mls north of Oslo. It takes 'a day extra' to get there.
• For those desiring to visit Trondheim before or after the course: we'll advise you on reasonable student hostel or an Airbnb.
